Easy sweet potato pie

Note: 2 pies

2 extra large sweet potatoe

1 cup butter

1 ¼ cup sugar

1 small can Borden’s sweetened condensed milk

4 eggs

1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 unbaked pie crusts (9in.)




  1. Boil sweet potatoes until soft, cool and peel
  2. Use an electric mixer and mix well with butter until creamy
  3. Add condensed milk and mix
  4. Add eggs and mix
  5. Add sugar in ½ cup increments and test after each mix for desired sweetness up to 1 ¼ cup
  6. Add nutmeg and vanilla extract mix well


Pour even amount in each pie crust stopping ½ inch from top. Bake at 300 to 350 degrees depending on how well your oven holds a steady temperature. Check every half hour. Pies are done when center comes up clean after inserting a fork or knife. Any leftover in the bowl should be eaten while two pies is cooking.
